Sustainability is of the utmost importance to Blåkläder, both in our day-to-day operations in Sweden and in the manufacturing that takes place in other parts of the world. It’s our responsibility as a company to create a secure and safe working environment for employees and to minimise the environmental impact of the manufacturing of materials and components. But we also regard the factories that produce our garments as an important part of our long-term sustainability efforts.

 

 

BCI – BETTER COTTON INIATIVE

Blåkläder believes that cotton can be made more sustainable and even a preferred alternative, depending on how the fiber is produced. We therefore joined Better Cotton Initiative in 2017. This initiative provides the farmers with the tools to grow their crops more sustainably and in return receive fair compensations for their goods. It’s our firm belief that the methodology of BCI provides a more sustainable solution for one of the world´s most important textile fibers.
